Dance Classes at Garrowhill School of Dance

We welcome pupils from all parts of Glasgow and Lanarkshire. Our classes are easily accessible for example from Barlanark, Shettleston, Parkhead, Garthamlock, Bargeddie, Coatbridge and Airdrie.
 Beginners Class

The beginners class is specifically designed for children from 2-4years old. It is made up of various exercises and dance movements which allow the children to warm up, stretch all their major muscles, improve their rhythm, coordination and balance and learn some basic dance moves while having fun through music, mime and movement. It uses stories, nursery rhymes and lots of imagination.

Beginner classes are held on Saturday Mornings from 9 to 9:30 am in Garrowhill Masonic Hall.

Preschool Class

The preschool class is a progression of the beginners class and aimed at children in their pre-school year. It uses many elements of the beginners class but also begins to incorporate a more structured programme using basic Ballet and Tap technique in in Garrowhill Masonic Hall.

Pre-school classes are held on Saturday Mornings from 9:30 to 10:15 am

Modern & Tap

Tap dancing is a rhythmical stimulating style of dance which is a fun way of developing co-ordination and skill. Tap originates from Irish dance and the English clog dance. Classes are available for children from ages 4½ to Adults. (For younger children see Beginner Ballet and Pre-school Ballet, above.) From beginners to advanced. It's a great way to keep fit and have fun.

We encourage our dancers to take part in competition and will soon be publishing details of the competitions available as well as those competed in and the results of those who took part.
